Preparation Of Coating On Balloon Surface

Basic Concepts About Balloons

Balloon outer diameter: Refers to the outer diameter of the balloon and distal catheter in the unexpanded state.

Coating substances on the surface of the balloon
• Hydrophobic coating (Hydro-phobic) is mostly stent balloon.
• The hydrophilic coating (Hydro-phylic) enhances the passing ability of the balloon.

Dilation pressure (Nominal Pressure): refers to the pressure required to obtain the diameter of the inflatable balloon identified by the label, and the dilation pressure is defined as the pressure at which 99% of the balloons will not rupture. Example: AQUA T3: 10atm—3.0

Rated Burst Pressure: 40 times of repeated inflation of the balloon, 99% of the balloons will not rupture under this pressure. This is an important part of product identification, providing a safe inflation pressure range for the operator. RBP: 6~16atm

Mean Burst Pressure: According to statistical principles, the pressure at which the balloon ruptures. Defined as 50% of the balloons will rupture.

Preparation of coating on balloon surface

Whether the coating on the surface of the balloon is hydrophilic or hydrophobic, our company’s UAM3000 ultrasonic coating equipment can be used to prepare the coating on the surface of the balloon.

Preparation Of Coating On Balloon Surface - Ultrasonic Spray Coating

UAM3000 is a high-performance stent spraying equipment developed for stent series products, mainly used for drug coating on stent surface. The special nozzle for ultrasonic stent with national patent can realize precise drug application, and the fixture specially equipped for the stent is convenient for loading and unloading. This device has the characteristics of supporting multiple series and types of stents, high drug utilization rate, accurate drug delivery, and high uniformity of stent film layers.

Cheersonic is the leading developer and manufacturer of ultrasonic coating systems for applying precise, thin film coatings to protect, strengthen or smooth surfaces on parts and components for the microelectronics/electronics, alternative energy, medical and industrial markets, including specialized glass applications in construction and automotive.
