Preparation of Membrane Electrode

Preparation of membrane electrode by ultrasonic coating method – fuel cell preparation – Cheersonic

The fuel cell is an energy conversion device that can directly convert the chemical energy stored in the fuel and oxidizer into electrical energy through an electrochemical reaction. It has the advantages of environmental friendliness, high energy density, fast startup at room temperature, and high reliability. Fuel cells include proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), alkaline fuel cells (AFC), molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFC), phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC) and solid oxide fuel cells (sOFC). Compared with other types of fuel cells, the proton exchange membrane fuel cell has a relatively low working temperature and is suitable for use as an electric vehicle, portable power source. The membrane electrode is the core component of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell, which determines the performance, life and cost of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The membrane electrode includes a catalyst layer, a diffusion layer and a proton exchange membrane, which provide protons, electrons, reaction gas and water continuous channels for the electrochemical reaction of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell.

The traditional methods of preparing membrane electrodes include spraying method and transfer printing method. The spraying method has low efficiency, high wood production and low automation, which cannot meet the requirements of production expansion. The transfer method first coats the catalyst slurry on the transfer substrate, and then transfers it to the proton exchange membrane. The process flow is complicated, and the transfer substrate is expensive. During the transfer process, the transfer cannot be completely transferred. The problem of low rate.

The method recommended by our company to prepare membrane electrodes is ultrasonic coating. The membrane electrode prepared by the ultrasonic coating method has a high degree of automation, high efficiency, and low production of wood, which can meet the expansion of production. The utilization rate of platinum in the film using ultrasonic spraying is about 90%, reducing material consumption by up to 50% and reducing overspray, thereby saving expensive catalyst ink.
