Project Description
Pharmaceutical Spray Drying
Spray drying is a particularly applicable technique to the pharmaceutical industry. Micron-sized particles such as filler, particles containing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), etc. are often used to fill caplets or press into tablets, as well as for inhalation powders and compounds. Spray drying can allow for the creation of microcapsules or microspheres of controllable size and composition on a benchtop or laboratory scale level for research, upwards into industrial production, allowing for the design and fabrication of pharamaceutical agents with well-controlled properties such as release kinetics.
Cheersonic ultrasonics particle generators or nozzles may be used in spray drying systems. In addition, Cheersonic can manufacture or design custom, “turn-key” spray drying systems with heated chamber, pumps, atomizer(s) or nebulizer(s), etc.
The Cheersonic wide vortex spray shaper is an excellent choice for making pharmaceutical powders using ultrasonic atomizer nozzles. Nozzles spray slurries and other solutions into fine droplets which are then dried into particles. Particles are collected and packaged into products.
