Ultrasonic Spraying of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells

Ultrasonic Spraying of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells – Cheersonic

The molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) systems represent one of the most flexible systems for in-situ and stationary electrical power plants, because of their high electrical efficiency and possibility to supply hydrogen produced by different raw fuels. The main principles of MCFCs are based on SOFCs and the other types of fuel cells. In a MCFC, carbonate salts are the electrolyte. Heated to 650 degrees C , the salts melt and conduct carbonate ions (CO3) from the cathode to the anode. At the anode, hydrogen reacts with the ions to produce water, carbon dioxide, and electrons. The electrons travel through an external circuit, providing electrical power along the way, and return to the cathode. There, oxygen from air and carbon dioxide recycled from the anode react with the electrons to form CO3 ions that replenish the electrolyte and transfer current through the fuel cell. Therefore, catalysts can be made of low-priced metals to reduce cost, and the heat/exhaust can be utilized.

Ultrasonic Spraying of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells - Cheersonic

Cheersonic ultrasonic coating systems suitable for R & D, small and medium-sized batch production. It produce highly durable, uniform, coatings of carbon-based catalyst inks onto both fuel cell and electrolysis processes for proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers such as Nafion, without deformation of the membrane. The advantages of Cheersonic ultrasonic coating systems include:

1.Full range of ultrasonic nozzles
2.Spray patterns are easily shaped for precise coating applications
3.Up to 80% reduction in material consumption with reduced overspray, conserving expensive catalyst inks.
4.Spray plume can be easily shaped and directed to coat only target area.
5.Self-cleaning nozzle design prevents clogging
6.Extremely easy-to-control spray provides reliable and consistent results
7.Very uniform and durable coating (even on electrolyte substrates).
