A new approach for preparation of semi-transparent superhydrophobic coatings by ultrasonic spray hydrolysis of methyltrimethoxysilane
Superhydrophobic coatings were prepared by ultrasonic spray hydrolysis of methyltrimethoxysilane on different substrates. The wettability and the morphology of the coatings are dependent on the time of the spray deposition.
The ultrasonic spray deposition technique leads to a hierarchical micro-nano binary structure with nanometric roughness. The coatings show self-cleaning behavior and are durable under water jetting and water flushing experiment.
